The Watcher from the Aether says... The party springs into action. The fallen bowman in the middle of the zombies let's off a flurry of arrows at close range and takes down two. Drethen fires two arrows and takes down another one. Jess and the rest of the part team up on one and take it down as well.
The remaining zombies pull out old rusted weapons and attack the closest target. In this case, the human that they had been carrying. However, this human by skill and more than just a little luck is able to dodge and juke his way out of being hit by the slow lumbering zombies.
The human works his way out of the crowd of zombies, still firing, taking down another zombie while Drethen and Jess combine to finish off another.
The zombies give chase and one is able to hit the human bowman (3hp) as he tries to stay ahead of the zombie hoard.
Drethen, with the zombies now close enough to attack with his sword, pulls out his weapon and begins chopping on zombie corpses, felling two, the second he almost splits in half from top to bottom. The bowman fires off two more shots, one taking down another zombie and the second is severely injured making it an easy target for Ardo to finish off. Jess is able to take another down on her own and leave another one severely injured as well. Drethen, putting himself between the zombies and the party, is able to hold off their attacks without any injuries.

Elf Bowman says...Wiggling through and running while firing makes Hunter anxious about finishing the fight before his wounds open up more. He fires again!

The Dawn Seeker says... Jonathon would take out another torch, and standing near Drethen though staying out of reach of his blade while swinging the flame around. He had kept quite, taking in the scene and considering how this could be won.
He would call to those which the zombies had been carrying saying, "Hurry, make your way towards us! Together we fight." The mage did wonder if this was too much for them to handle, considering retreat.

Elf Bowman says...Hunter, for just a brief moment, wonders who these other people are near the zombies, but he can't focus on that with the immediate distraction in front of him.

The Watcher from the Aether says... After three more rounds of fighting, the party is able to eliminate the rest of the zombies with Drethen and the stranger, Hunter, doing the most damage. Jess remained in the back of the party picking off the damaged zombies.
A quick inspection of Thane's body shows that he must have been tortured quite severely and was probably only just hanging on when he was dropped by the zombies.
The way he was placed on the pallet and by the way his equipment was cleaned and polished tells Ardo that he and, most likely, Hunter were on their way to some kind of religious ceremony, probably as a sacrifice to some evil god or demon.
