"You can say that. You didn't have an arrow poking out of you." Oberon chuckles at Aseneth. "Still I think that makes sense. Given that we clearly have a cleric here who can use the corpses to do his bidding, it makes the most sense to make sure any bodies we leave behind are useless to him. But with Heironimous's blessings I am up for another go at cleaning out the caverns."
Jess leads the party back to the east, down the stairs turning north at the landing and stepping gingerly over the wire that is still stretched across the stairs.
She crosses the room to the west avoiding goblin corpses which appear to be as of yet undisturbed. Moving down the corridor to the northwest, she leads everybody past the side corridor to the east with the portcullis still blocking the entrance.
Finally, the party arrives back at the original intersection at the entrance of the caves. You are now back at the intersection with the corridor you are standing in to the east, a corridor running 20' to the north ending in a door, and a corridor to the west which appears to end in a T-intersection about 40' away.
Out of Character: : Before we leave, what are we doing with the tied up Hobgoblins?
Also as we pass the goblins, Oberon will stop for a minute. "This is what I am talking about", he says as he bends over the bodies, and with a couple quick blows with the pommel of his axe turns the bones of their hands into so much paste. "Lets see the demon worshiper make them lift a weapon now", he says his voice both grim and satisfied.
Rethal is taking the hobgoblins with us. They are following behind Jess. Now that we are back at the original intersection Rethal tells them to head down the corridor to the T intersection. Jess can follow behind them and watch for hidden doors. If any traps are ahead of us they will find them for us.
The hobgoblins protest the idea of going first, but when confronted with the resolve of the party they quickly acquiesce. They protestingly walk down the 30' of the tunnel with Jess 10' behind them and the rest of the party behind her.
Once they reach the intersection on the 40th foot section, they run to the right with surprising quickness.
As you catch up and look around the corner, you see the three hobgoblins surrounded by eight goblins who are untieing them in a large 20' by 40' room. When the hobgoblins see you, they point and yell something in goblin, alerting the rest of the goblins to your presence.
One goblin, thinking quickly, throws a spear at Jess.
Rethal will pull Jess back around the corner and get he behind us. Rethal listens to what they say to the goblins. As he speaks the language. He will tell the others what he saw and to get ready for a battle. We will wait to see if they come to the corner to confront us.
Rethal will be waiting with sword.
