Ardo watched as Mendal travels by into the keep once Mendal and the group is out of sight he brings Delgar back. " I do not trust anyone that can raise zombies and have them follow his command to deliver something to those priests in the valley. I do not know if he is truly evil or just a merchant that has learned to use the undead for his purposes. Well gentleman lets head back to the valley and try to finish this off."
Hunter relays the conversation to the rest. He comments, "After we get done with those priests we need to check this guy out and see what kind of 'work' he offers.
Hunter then waits for Ardo to return and while doing so he examines his ring to see how he feels. When everyone regroups he starts walking towards the planned area towards the bugbears' cave.
On the merchant's word of becoming, Gabriel offered a brief nod and simple, "Thank you," though was otherwise silent as they continued on both their way.
Offering the statement, "I could never work for or with someone who dealt in such necromancy as raising the dead," though looking to Ardo he asks, "When did you learn he did business involving zombies?"
Nodding to Hunter and Drethen the paladin agrees, "Yes, this merchant can wait, other things to accomplish first". Gabriel was ready to continue on when everyone else was.
"A few weeks ago when I first came to town Mendal tried to hire only 1 or 2 members of our group to be a guards. When we left town the next day we ended up seeing him on the road from a distance. He was able to raise some undead from the ground and they went off into the forest. We followed that road and that leads to the back entrance of the cave complex that the evil clerics reside in. What I notice know and it just occurred to me is he didn't have any extra guards that time or this time. Well lets head off to the valley and try to finish this off."
The party travels on. It takes about another hour to reach the Bugbear's caves. They greet you warmly, or as warmly as Bugbears can greet any humans and demi-humans.
Before you head out, the shaman's daughter speaks to you. "Thank you for bringing our brothers back safe, yesterday. Our numbers are low, but this is a good cause and we have little choice in the matter, anyway.
"May I ask, now that you've had a chance to get inside the priest's caves, what is your plan for today?"
Hunter looks at the shaman's daughter and says, "What other plan could there be but to go in there and flush the evil out of that cave." He is about to leave and then adds, "Too bad you can't come along, a little more magic always helps." He winks.
Out of Character: Before getting in front of the cave I will like to go by some trees and stake it out for a bit to see if anything has changed.
"I am for heading to the back entrance and coming in through there. I figure the front entrance now is well covered and might get us in there easier."
