"I am not concerned about them casting a spell, I am concerned with them raising the alarm. It would be nice to maybe get a few more surprises before an alarm is raised and we have to fight every step of the way. But if we think we can take 2 or 3 people quickly I will save my spells for another battle."
Jess inspects the lock and thinks that it shouldn't be too difficult to open.
Hunter checks out the north door and finds that it is locked as well, and the same sounds can be heard through the door. Delgar surmises that they're probably two different doors that lead to the same room.
Out of Character: : I'm thinking that the limit of one's abilities is the limit of one's abilities *smile*.
Hunter stands behind Jess with bow and arrow in position. The moment he opens the door he will fire when he sees the priests.
"Jess, crack that door open, Hunter explain to the Bugbears to rush with Gabriel, Drethen and myself at the people inside. Delgar and Jess hang back to make sure no one is coming down the hallway."
Out of character: I have made rolls if needed. Though I did not add any bonuses for a save.
After listening to the plan being discussed and offering a nod of agreement Gabriel prepares himself as well, weapon raised and ready to attack. Though admittedly, he was also hoping that they could end this confrontation without a fight.
Jess fiddles with the lock trying to open it. She seems to be having more trouble with it than she expected. The noise of her trying to open the lock ends with a loud 'click'.
Not knowing if the people inside have heard you and not wanting to give them a chance to respond, you rush into the room and find two people sitting at a small table. On the table are a few books and papers.
One of the people is a man dressed in clerical garb and black robes sitting across from a female cleric, similarly dressed but in red robes. The man is holding a book while the female is muttering some phrases.
They both have stopped doing whatever it was they were doing and are looking in your direction as you enter. Catching them by some semblance of surprise, the bugbears quickly surround the man who is sitting on the south side of the table, but Drethen is the only person who is able to get close enough to the female, on the north side of the table, to take any action before they have a chance to get their weapons out and respond.
Hunter, however, is the first to react, shooting the man from a distance and burying both arrows into the man's back. If there was any fight left in him, the first bugbear to reach him knocked it out of him. His body slumps to the floor with the ring of metal on stone as he hits.
Jess takes her two shots at the female on the north side of the table. Her first arrows skips harmlessly off of the woman's shield as she's able to bring it up just in time, but the second slips in low and she winces from its bite.
Out of Character: : Drethen can get in two attacks, while the rest can get in a second move before the female cleric can respond.
