Would I be able to find thieves tools? They're kind of important to me as a thief. I would also like to look in the magic shop. Maybe there's something that will make me harder to hit (Since I can''t wear better armour).
Thieves tools are relatively common and available for purchase. However, there is no magic shop other than stores for herbs and spices used for potions and that kind of thing. Even if magic items were available, you would not have enough gold to purchase them with the exception of some of the most common or mundane items which would still require you to pool your gold just to buy one or two.
As far as a room for the night is concerned, a large room that will fit all of you will cost 5gp per night. Even so, Jess and Jude decline your offer as Jess has her own accommodations and Jude needs to cleans his soul after spending so much time in the presence of the evil priests. He will be spending the night in the keep's chapel. Delgar will accept your offer of lodging and reiterate that he's willing to stay on for as long as you all will have him. Jess offers to meet you in the morning to join you for your next foray.
Considering, Gabriel says, "I believe I may also spend at least a few hours at the Chapel, for meditation and prayer, before returning the end for rest." That and perhaps the paladin will be able to converse with Jude a bit more.
Yep the power to do some shopping, finding one additional healing potion to be purchased, a long bow and quiver of arrows, some holy water at the chapel if it is available, and a healing kit so that the paladin may go about bandage wounds next time.
Once he had this purchase is made, he would put 200 gp in a small pouch and put the rest aside to give to the Chapel. All he requested for his donation was for some advice and perhaps a blessing that he'd be able to protect his companions.
Out of Character: I'm not sure of the cost of items, except for the healing potion, so I will leave it up to the GM to tell me how much I must markoff. Still, given how he is donating the rest except a couple hundred, knowing such may be unnecessary.
I did have consideration in saving coin to be able to eventually get barding and a horse, unless Gabriel will get such without such payment at his next level by way of a Paladin's Mount, but I'm fine with him only keeping 200 gp.
Ardo will pay for the room and make the offer to the others to sleep the night. He will suggest taking shifts while sleeping. If possible I would like to purchase healing at the chapel so I am at full hit points. Now for weapons can I get take the mace or the chain mail armour?
Could I go to the pawn shop to visit my friend now? I'd like to see how this interaction goes before I do anything else.
Drethen will resupply his arrows, food, and buy a heavy mace to use against Skeletons. He will buy everyone dinner and then breakfast so that we are ready to head back to the caves. He also checks to see if there is a bank or money lender around he can save his money at? If not he will buy a chest with a good lock and rent a room at the inn for an extended period of time to store the chest there.
Davik heads over to his friend's establishment (Pawn Shop on the map of 'Guido's Keep' found in the first entry of this thread). As he enters his friend lights up in recognition and runs over to give him a hug. His friend is now the owner of a locksmith shop that also doubles as a pawn shop.
For Drethen, the religious institutions and in this case the keep's chapel, works as a form of bank. They provide magical statements that show how much you have on deposit. These statements can be verified at any religious institution and are honored there for additional deposits or withdrawals. The institutions charge a 5% deposit fee and, if the owner does not leave a will and ends up a victim of their profession, the institution keeps the deposit.
In the morning, Jess doesn't show up for breakfast. Curious as to where she might have gotten off to, the party asks the tavern owner to check on her in her room. The tavern owner comes back quickly to your table asking you to follow him. He leads you to the upstairs room that was owned by Jess. Inside you find a gruesome discovery. What's left of Jess' corpse lies in her bed, shriveled and desiccated. It appears that all of the liquid has been removed from her body, but there are no apparent marks or signs as to how it happened.
Out of Character: I am going to play a little catchup with all these posts first:
In Character: Hunter is surprised by the large donation of the paladin, he didn't think it would be that much but he puts in 50gps as he thinks that is sufficient for any donation. He comments to the paladin, "Careful, whichever god you worship might get jealous… " and he laughs.
Out of Character: About the room's discovery.
In Character: Hunter is shocked by what he sees and calls for any of the local clergy that might know what is the cause of the evil but in his own mind he thinks about that strange merchant with the barrels and makes this comment to his friends. He then looks by her neck for bite wounds.
Out of Character: Are healing potions still available at 50 gps each?
In Character: Hunter also suggests visiting another city to get better equipment and supplies. He thanks those that provided him a room and food as it makes him feel more akin to the new group.
"What shall we do then?"
