At first Thane thought the ladies were rather attractive but given their attitudes he loses interest in their lack of grace. He replies,
"And what kind of pay are we talking about?" He says with no tact whatsoever.
Upon hearing of work a young human male with brown hair looks up from his tankard of water and stew he has been nursing for a while and walks over to the group. “If you need another able body hand I could help on your job you are doing as I am always interested in earning a little coin. ”

Oberon smiles over at Rethal. "Looks like we may have the makings of our own company."
He turns back to the merchant whose movement (Along with the young ladies) he had been watching closely "So we are here at your disposal, tell us a little more"
Speaking loudly to the audience in general while his eyes remain on his target Oberon announces "A copper to whoever goes and gets Gervase so we can get on with this"
Thanks watches Oberon only with a sly eye not even bothering to turn his head. He's already decided that he will be one to 'watch'. He then refocuses his attention on the merchant as gold beckons his interest.
The ladies are not illusions, but they could be under some kind of spell.
Mendel goes on to explain, "I could use some stout gaurds for my wagon when I leave the keep, tomorrow morning. Although I must admit, I wasn't expecting this many people to volunteer for the job. I was thinking just one or two, like those two gentlemen sitting over there." He points to Gervase and Luthian who are sitting next to each other at the bar, ordering their next round.
"They're not much to look at," He says, "But the caves have a tendency to break even the hardiest of adventurers."
"Caves?!?" Mendel says with a bit of surprise. "No, I'm not heading to any caves. A merchant and his wagon would have little business at the caves. I'm heading back to civilization, but that road, as you know, goes through some pretty uncivilized lands.
So, I need guards to get me there."
He continues, "I was merely remarking that those two at the bar, I believe their names are Grevase and Luthian, look as if they've been broken by the caves. That's usually what adventurers around here do when they no longer have the drive and desire that they once did."
Forgive me for misunderstanding good sir when you mentioned the caves I assumed you meant thats where you were heading as well but in hind sight it was a foolish assumption on my part.
Since the whole party is here perhaps we can make some plans for the adventure tomorrow
