The party sets out from the keep heading for the location where they saw the zombies rise out of the ground, seemingly at Mendal's command.
As they arrive, they don't find any evidence of recent activity. In fact, over the past couple of days the wind and weather has covered all previous evidence to the point that you have to carefully point out what happened and where and that's still not quite enough for Davik to be sure that the remaining evidence matches the story being told.
After a short rest, the party makes their way into the woods towards the back entrance to the cleric's abode. As they travel, the woods seem a little more quiet than what they're used to. There seem to be fewer birds, or at least fewer that are active this morning, and that just added to the feeling of quiet and calm hanging over the woods.
After another half of an hour, the party arrives at the path that leads to the stone door through the brambles and rocky soil. All traces of zombies, bits of flesh and cloth that used to hang on the brambles from their passing, have pretty much disappeared. It would almost seem as if this was just another game trial to the stone door.
As the party gathers in the clearing of brambles in front of the stone, they realize they have to go about trying to open this portal, once again.
Davik examines the door for traps and tries to work out how to open it. If it's a lock that can be picked, I try to do that.
The door is not locked, but there doesn't seem to be any mechanism for opening it, either. In the past, the party had to force the door open (Successful bend bars/lift gates check).
"How did you guys get past this door last time?" asked Davik "I can't see the bandits prying this door open every time they come in and out."
Out of Character: Is there anything hidden on the surrounding rock? A hidden way to open the door?
"Open" Ardo silently hopes Jess wasn't a mage casting a spell as he feels like he will look like a fool standing in front of a door like Jess did.
"If I remember, it opened a bit suprisingly last time with Jess simply touching it and the door allowing us entry," Gabriel honestly did not understand why it opened, but at the time he believed everyone had simply been glad they could enter without trying to pry it open. After a bit of investigation and discussion, Delgar offers, "I don't think it was Jess saying 'open', but I think it was her knocking on the door. At that time, there were undead on the other side of the door that I believe opened it for whoever knocked."
"I might suggest knocking again. They could have replaced the zombies and skeletons by now."
Ardo walks up readies his mace and shield and gives the door a knock. "Open". He looks a little worried that he is about to get swarmed.
