I read the titles of the books. Anything interesting to me, or any way I can discern how valuable they are?
Davik runs out of the 'lounge' and back down the steps to the 'dormitory' to review the books. He finds that the books are a mix of light reading (Love poetry, adventurer's lives), theology (Hymnals, books of prayers, catechisms), the Erishkigal/Nergal equivalent of saint's lives, and legends regarding various deities in the pantheon.
Based on a quick review, if any of them were valuable, they were probably taken by whoever cleared out the room to this extent.
"Anything valuable in this book shelf seems to have been taken," said Davik "I don't think there's anything valuable here. We can search the rest of the place, but I think our adversaries have left."
In Character: Hunter watches Davik with an astonished face not only because of the timing of the question but the fact they weren't in a situation where it should be brought up. He does not answer in any elaborate manner just to say, "I would focus on the task at hand. Besides, if I were so mistrustful of you then you would not be in the front leading."
Hunter observes.
"Very well, where to next?" Asked Davik "The place where you found me? If we're going to find anyone, it's going to be there."
"No I would rather check out this hallway. It is the only hallway we have not been in this complex yet.". Ardo motions toward the hallway not yet explored.
The party heads down the hallway to where it turns to the right to find that it continues another forty feet with a side passage about twenty feet in.
Carefully approaching the side passage, the party finds that it heads down a set of stairs into the darkness.
