Hunter says, "Pretend I'm the zombie dog!" as he starts swinging for the fences hoping to cut the cat in two pieces.
He shouts to the others, "Oil and fire kills most anything!"
Davik, coming to his senses, pulls a flask of oil from his bag. Using the his tinder and flint, he lights the rag within the oil on fire, and throws it towards the cat. Although no longer effected by the strange fear-inducing effects of the cat, Davik still realises the considerable threat the cat poses, and hopes to finish it off as soon as possible.
Davik shouts a quick: "Look out!" to Hunter as the flask explodes.
Out of Character: What's the damage on Flask of Flaming Oil? Also, when did Rusty eat my longsword? I thought I was being careful.

Ardo pulls his single holy water vial and tosses it at the cat. While trying to get Drethen's attention to tell him to follow with his vails. "Drethen toss Holy water at it. I know that will damage it, don't toss fire as if we hit Hunter that will seriously hurt him also." Once the holy water is tossed Ardo steps forward knowing his magical mace will do damage to the vile undead.
Out of Character: : I double checked the posts and didn’t find a single statement that Davik was ensuring, in any way, that the rust monster wasn’t able to get any of his metal items. Rust Monsters are sneaky that way. And, it tagged you when I wrote that you were walking with a spring in your step. That wasn’t from being in a good mood, it was from being a couple pounds lighter.
Round 5:
Ardo pulls out his vial of holy water and throws it at the cat. The cat, caught by surprise, sizzles and hisses as the water seems to burn him. Steam or smoke seems to rise up off of the creature as it howls in pain. Filled with kitty rage, the animal attacks Ardo. But, being ready for it, Ardo is able to fend off all of its attacks.
Hunter swings hard with his sword, but with the cat jumping around like it was on a hot tin roof, he’s unable to make contact with his blade. Drethen, seeing the success that Ardo had with the Holy Water, pulls out his own vial and tries dumping it on the cat. He’s not able to get a direct hit due to the cat’s movements, but the splashing of the water next to the cat still makes it hiss and smoke.
Davik then throws his flask of flaming oil. The flask explodes at his feet soaking the cat in the oil. The room fills with the smell of old greasy rags burning, but curiously, not the smell of burning cat hair. The cat doesn’t seem to be effected by the burning oil and doesn’t even react to it. Everybody around the cat is splashed with oil from the exploding flask. (Drethen, Hunter, Ardo, and Davik each take 1hp of damage).
The rest of the party waits in the corridor while the team tries to destroy the cat.
Round 6:
With the cat reeling from the Holy Water, Ardo steps up and attacks the creature with his mace. With the cat still bouncing around from the previous attacks, Ardo is unable to hit it with his mace. The cat returns the favor and tries to attack Ardo again. The cat, now really pissed off, attacks Ardo with fervor hitting him with both of its claws (8hp damage).
Hunter takes advantage of the distraction and is able to get a solid hit on the cat. The only reward he gets for his troubles is that it appears the cat is starting to slow down. Drethen, not having any options left, does his best to distract the cat so that others will have a better chance to hit the cat.
"Jude if you have holy water to give to Drethen or at least bless his sword so he can join in. If not can you try turning this thing. Anyone of those things would be extremely helpful right now." Ardo realizes what he faces is truly vile and needs to be put down quickly.
Delgar gets nervous about hearing oil and fire being tossed around a room full of books he moves up to the door way takes out his water flask in case he needs to save some books. Even though there is no real sign of a fire it's better safe then sorry. "Gentlemen please becareful in there you might trigger some magical device or trap not to speak of all the books as well"
