As a Halfling, Davik knows it would be rude to refuse good food when it is given to him, so he begins eating, beginning with the meat.
Out of Character: I'm assuming you need another d20 roll for bookkeeping since I intend to continue eating?
After suffering the side effects of the last meal even though he feels stronger something just isn't right and he stands up and walks away from the table to join the others.
Hunter raises his eye brow and looks around. This time he chooses to walk in boldly to see what this place is all about looking around for clues and for the 'root' of it all.
Delgar and Ardo get up from the table and begin walking to the stairs that will take them to the catwalk across the hallway. Meanwhile, Davik digs into the main course. He doesn't feel any side effects from the Roast Beef, but he does find that it is tender, tasty and pink in the middle. Likewise, the green beans are cooked well, but offer no side effects. As the tastes the wheat bread, he begins to feel more and more ravished causing him to devour the rest of the meal more quickly while he finds that it only satisfies his hunger at about half of what he would normally expect. (Davik now needs twice as much to eat as he normally would or else suffers from hunger.) As he eats the mushrooms in wine sauce, his throat and lips begin to swell. He begins gagging from what appears to be a poisonous reaction to the mushrooms.
Ardo and Delgar hear Davik begin to gag as they make it about half way to the stairs. As they turn to look, they see Davik suffering from some kind of poisoning. As he gags and gasps for air, the other guests continue to ignore him and carry on as if nothing out of the ordinary were happening.
Hunter and Drethen step boldly into the kitchen and receive the same response as they've been getting from all of the ethereal servants. They continue to ignore Hunter's and Drethen's presence and go about their business without interruption.
Ardo runs back to the table and looks for some of the amber wine that was on the table before and force it down Davik's throat hoping that cures him of whatever poison was in the food. Looking at Delgar he screams "See if Hunter still has a Neutralize poison potion he purchased from the keep!"
Ardo looks feverishly around the table. Unfortunately, the servants were very efficient and thorough in clearing away all of the items from previous courses.
The only other door in the kitchen is the door at the bottom of the stairs leading out into the hallway.
As Drethen looks closely, he can see that the illusion is a facade covering an old dusty kitchen that doesn't appear to have been used in decades. Part of the realization is that anything useful has been removed ages ago leaving nothing but dust and cobwebs.
