Hunter smiles and can't help but remark about Delgar's words of agreement, "There is hope for this group that they can listen to reason."
"I am fine for resting now for 8 hours. I can take the last watch if needed. ". IOC: Castling last cure spell.
Eight hours passes uneventfully. If Delgar would like to cast Identify (And if he has it) he may. By casting the spell, he can identify four items. You currently have a sword, the morningstar, a suit of plate mail. The staff, and a potion that are currently in need of identification.
In general, items cannot be identified by simple examination. But, I will allow a character to do so if they have the skill Spellcraft and roll a 1 on a d20. Also, as noted in the spell, if any curses are activated by touch, the act of identifying an object will trigger that curse but, it will most likely be triggered already by anybody picking the item up. In general, using a cloth will not work since most adventurers already have hand protecting in the form of gauntlets or gloves.
From casual conversation with the morningstar, it provides the information that it currently doesn't have a name as each owner provides it with a name once it has been established that it will serve the owner. It is of LG alignment and will only serve an LG owner. It provides a +2 bonus on to hit and damage and it will allow the owner to:
A) Detect sloping passages in a 10-foot radius
B) Detect traps of large size in a 10-foot radius (So no needle traps)
C) Detect magic in a 10-foot radius
In order to activate the weapon's powers, the weapon must be held, drawn, and the possessor is concentrating on the desired result. A weapon can perform only one function at a time, and thus can fight or detect but one thing at a time.
Hunter is impressed with what the weapon can do and comments, "Whomever wields this thing will finally become useful… " he chuckles and waits for the party to do their thing before moving back into the mansion.
Gabriel chuckles before saying to the morningstar and his companions, "I am glad I no longer need to be careful, I believed that you would be a weapon for good but I allowed myself to doubt." The paladin considers Hunter's joke, glad that it seemed he was no longer distrusting of him.
Considering that the weapon was nameless at the moment, the paladin would offer to the morningstar, "On giving you a name, perhaps Fuascailt will be to your approval? It has few meanings, though deliverance and redemption are the two translations that I remember most strongly. The freedom from that which imprisons others, whether physical or spiritual bondage."

Out of Character: : Haven't heard from Delgar yet, so I'll make the command decision that he cast the Identify spell and then rested some more to get the spell back. That will put the party at ready to break camp in the morning. It's a good place to start the day, anyway.
In Character: : Delgar identifies the items, the sword, armor, staff, and potion. The sword is a standard Long Sword +3. The plate mail is Plate Mail +2. The staff is a Staff of Curing and the potion is a Potion of Poison.
Over the course of the night the party isn't disturbed. The grounds seem deathly quiet and the ominous fog encircling the grounds doesn't help, either.
Dawn breaks and can only be detected by an unsettling lightening of the fog around you to the point that you can see without the aid of a fire.
Also, all damage suffered from the boxing match is now healed. In addition, two points of any other type of damage are healed as well.
Out of Character: : What of Gabriel's conversation with the morningstar and the name that he offered for it? He was directly talking to it, and since it had been identified he had no fear of holding it in his hands.
