Hunter is glad to see that good sense prevails this time as in times past the party was quick to engage everything they saw.
He goes up to the next door and does his usual routine of listening, checking and trying a surprise open.
The party quickly closes the door and moves down the hallway to the next door they come to. It's a normal looking single door on the east wall of the hallway after it's turned south.
Hunter checks the door and finds nothing to indicate any kind of danger. Carefully opening the door he finds a room with a single bed and typical bedroom furniture. The room appears to be empty.
"Now this is something I can work with… " says Hunter has he fires a couple of arrows under the bed to make sure nothing is hiding there. He then makes a search.
Hunter fires a couple of arrows under the bed. They skip off of the floor and shoot out of the other side landing against the far wall.
Seeing nothing there, he carefully searches the room. The furniture appears to be empty with just a few scraps of cloth and useless pieces of paper left to indicate that this room was probably inhabited at one time, but no longer.
Seeing Hunter's search come up fruitless, Drethen moves down the corridor to the next door. Checking the door carefully and listening at the door, he doesn't find or hear anything.
Opening the door, Drethen finds a room with wood paneled walls. The floor is covered by a plush carpet. A number of card tables and wooden chairs are scattered around the room. Sitting behind a table in the middle of the room is a matronly woman dressed like a gypsy. On the table in front of her are 10 cards, face down. The cards are arranged in two rows of five cards each. As soon as the door opens, the woman says, “Welcome, come in, come in. The cards know all. The cards see all. Make yourselves comfortable. Who’ll be the first to choose a card? Pick a card, any card.”.
The lady responds to Drethen, "Stuck? Stuck is a state of mind. Nobody is stuck who has an open mind. But, if you're looking for additional enlightenment, like I said, the cards know all… " As she says this last part, she waves her hand over the table inviting each of you to come forward and choose a card.
