Wondering if the skeletons might have anything to do with the possession Hunter aims for those on the throne.
Each of Hunter's arrows hit the skeletons on the throne. As the arrows make impact, they crack the brittle remains creating a small puff of dusk and debris. The rest of the bones around the point of impact shatter and break causing the top half of the skeleton to fall over and shatter on the floor.
There are now two lower torso skeletons sitting on the thrones but this does not seem to alleviate Drethen's situation as he continues to struggle with himself, shaking his head several times as if to clear it.
Hunter says to Ardo, "Do you think there is more than one? Maybe if we entered and tried to destroy whatever is attacking Drethen it may disappear?"
"Hunter I am not sure but once it takes possession of Drethen we will have to fight him till he is unconscious. I am casting protection from evil on myself and walking into the room maybe it will try targeting me and leave him alone so he can flee." Ardo will then cast protection form evil upon himself and walk into the room.
As Ardo enters the room, he doesn't feel anything different. Drethen continues to appear to struggle, but it looks as if whatever struggle is going on, it's almost over. The question is, who will win?
Ardo immediately casts the prayer spell hoping the benevolence of the Blerred would work in the favour of his companion and let him shake off the effects of the attempted possession. "Oh Mighty Blerred, Father of the forge bring your might to our fight against evil."
Out of character: I will make sure I am close enough for the prayer spell to hopefully give him another saving throw with a +1 bonus. I am now out of 3rd level spells for the day.
