The lizard continues to stare at Ardo almost as if he's wondering if the party will enter his domain for a snack or if they will close the door and leave him in peace?
"Are we certain it will attack, perhaps we can find for it other food or put it to sleep," Gabriel asks in consideration. While destroying undead was fine, and those of the Amber family who attacked first, the paladin was uncertain what to do involving is large lizard, "Otherwise, I might suggest we leave it alone. I do not feel certain that we should attack this creature unprovoked."
To explain himself he says, "If is simply an over-sized lizard, one could offer it would attack us simply because of it seeing us as food or in defense of what it might see as its territory. I do not believe it appears as a creature of ill intent or worthy of being immediately attacked." Gabriel did not feel sure he was comfortable with attacking it simply because it is in the way.

Hunter sides with Gabriel on this occasion. Unless the room is offering something significant it is best left alone. He comments to Drethen, "Throw it one of your rations. Maybe it will like it."
"Our options are go forward into this room or backwards into the room with the spirit and look through a place we have already searched. I am fine with tossing some rations off to the side to see if it eats those while we try to get across the room. I figure if we each toss some rations it might be a big enough pile to entice it to go eat."
Drethen will step into the room and toss a ration over to the side to see what reaction the lizard gives. If it goes over to the ration he will enter farther into the room. If the lizard comes towards him he will step back out of the room.
Ardo tries to quickly toss a ration in the same area as Drethen, hoping that together there items will be enough to distract the lizard.
