Ardo seeing that Drethen is under attack begins to attack this creature hoping to not hurt his friend in the process.
The party begins to attack whatever it is that's trying to make a meal of Drethen. Gabriel swings his morningstar and makes contact with a soft, squishy substance. Hunter miss judges the area that the creature takes up and, trying to avoid hitting Drethen, also misses the blob. Ardo has better luck as his mace also lays into the blob.
Hunter dances back a step as he feels the creature reach towards him with a pseudo pod which narrowly misses his leg.
After adjusting for where they think the creature now is, the party's second round of attacks gives the satisfying result of the blob loosing it's composure and seemingly melting all over the floor.
In the aftermath, Drethen is still paralyzed and Ardo fears it may be several hours before he regains mobility.
Hunter comments, "Even if he will not be well now we should drag him out of here and into the new corridor I just found. I think if we stick around here there might be more trouble." He waits for agreement while preparing to move the injured into the corridor west.
"Agreed, let me carry him," Gabriel offers with a nod, though taking a moment to do a lay of hands upon his companion before doing so. Once finished, he would lift up Drethen and carries him into the hallway. The paladin hopes that he will be fine once the paralysis fades so they could continue.
Specific Action: Gabriel heals 2 HP per level and will carry Drethen unless another wishes to.

Gabriel and Hunter carry Drethen's paralyzed body out into the new hallway. They make him as comfortable as possible and, within twelve hours, Drethen regains control of his body.
During this time, the party can rest and each regain 2hp from the rest. Spells can be re-learned, etc…
Ardo before resting cause cure light wounds on Drethen and Gabriel. "Hopefully this will help gentleman." He also casts Wyvern watch at the door they just left making sure no one comes through it at night.
