Getting frustrated, Gabriel will yet again seek to make a proper blow while trying to hold back a cry of pain because of the claws digging into his flesh. The paladin tried to focus on getting the abbot unconscious, hoping they wouldn't be forced to kill him but ready to offer healing if they do fell him and was bleeding out.
Drethen charges one last time with this sword and is able to finally finish off the creature.
As the monster lay on the floor, the blood steadily flowing out of its open wounds (Especially the minor cut that Hunter inflicted on it), it slowly begins to form back into the figure of the abbot. As the man transforms, you spot an odd looking ring on his finger.
The ring appears to be made of a black metal and it has two serpents heads facing each other on the top of the ring.
Out of Character: In order to heal while in combat, Ardo would be the one required to disengage in order to administer the healing. This can be done from behind the character so as to not inhibit them too much while in combat.
Drethen will use a strip of cloth to remove the ring and place it in a a pocket so it does not effect them at all. He has a feeling that this ring caused the Abbot to change into a monster. Needless to say he also thinks that it is the ring they are looking for too.
Hunter comments, "Did you all notice the effect that comet had on him? Also, we have a new problem, everyone is expecting that we protect the abbot but we killed him instead, that isn't going to be nice."
Hunter than makes an immediate search of the area and the rest of the abbot and comments that the others should do the same for the rest of the tower.
Drethen says, "The creature killed him before we could kill the creature. Once we killed the creature is disappeared in a haze. Thus the others who fought the beast and saw it enter the tower will understand that it was a deadly creature."
"Well clean your weapons and armor up quickly. I am going to grab that ring off of him as it might be something we need or the reason why he was cursed. Drethen since you seem to already have the story ready you do the talking."
Gabriel will kneel down and and try using his lay of hands or a cure spell to at least stabilize the abbot and prevent him from dying. Surely it wasn't too late, he had just barely fallen, so if he worked quickly perhaps the man could be saved.
As he does this, the paladin says, "Are you two even going to try and save him?"
Out of Character: Wait, we just barely took the transformed abbot down. Surely we could still heal him and save his live? Well, my character would still try even if it is just a single hit point or with the Healing non-weapon proficiency he has. Edited: Thomaslee on 17th Aug, 2017 - 1:55pm
