Out of Character: Wish I knew that before I would have scalped some of those goblins. What other options are available for gold besides picking pockets and larceny?
At the moment, and in the immediate area, there doesn't seem to be any real opportunity to score any coin, especially not enough to purchase a bow.
"Thane I wasn't even aware that you lost your bow that is truly unfortunate if I had money to loan you to replace it I would but after last nights drink and room I am broke myself" Looking at the group that has assembled "Do any of you have an idea on how to replace his bow or do we set out for the caves once again in search of treasure with which he can replace it himself"
Thane nods at Delgar and then shrugs. He folds his arms as though expecting a good explanation as to how they will replace his bow. If the explanation is not good enough Thane will take a risk. He will first walk around to see where someone might have a bow unattended that he can take. If not he will look for someone that might have something of value he could sell and get the money. "This is for the greater good!" He says to himself.
Thane looks around and comes up with two options. He can either try to swipe somebody's long bow (A pick pockets roll of twice your success score will lead to you being caught), or he can try to get a loan from the pawn shop. Granted, the pawn shop will be a high interest rate loan, given all of the adventurers that take out loans and never return, but it is a slightly more 'lawful' approach.
"Well Thane you don't have much options and I do not think any of us has the funds or the will to replace your bow. If you want we can wait outside the troll cave while you sneak back in to see if you can retrieve it?"
"I heard your description. Why not just go in with a half dozen oilskins and light them up in front of the secret door. That should keep the troll back long enough to get the bow. And if he comes through he'll be burned badly enough we can attack."
"Going back to the cave, seriously?" Thane shakes his head at the notion of the idea because he imagines that since our last visit things would have been changed to ensure such a brazen attempt does not happen again. Thane massages his chin and goes with plan B.
