Out of Character: : Did we hear the spear shafts hitting the door?
"If they haven't charged us by now something is wrong. I expected them to be charging since they caught us by surprise."
Thane, eyes still on the door with bow ready, says with some disappointment, "I wonder if it was an illusion meant to scare us off?"
Then he relaxes some and says, "Detect magic anyone?"
I suppose we can try that oil and fire quickly, I don't think it was an illusion as if I was doing an illusion it would have been of that big one in pictures. I will have a torch ready to toss if someone has some oil.
"I'll stand in front, but I'm not wasting oil or my greek fire until after I know there is actually something there to fight."
Ilthin makes sure the clay pot of greek fire is in easy reach and then steps to the doors and looks to make sure everyone is ready before opening them.
The party prepares their oil and torches anticipating a long, deadly fight. Drethen throws open the doors only to find the room empty. Completely empty.
After a careful search you find a mortar and pestle filled with fine goldish grains, a small pile of various glittering rocks (Worthless minerals that the kobolds were using to create their gold paint), and a thin rope about 60' long tied with small knots every five feet.
