Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula confirmed that its leader, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, was killed in a drone strike.
The confirmation came via a video message that said that al-Wuhayshi was killed along with two aides.
The video said military chief Qasm al-Rimi will take over as successor. Earlier, two Yemeni national security officials told CNN that al-Wuhayshi was killed Friday in a suspected U.S. Drone strike in Yemen's Hadramout region. Ref. CNN
