International Discussions Role-playing Games Play by Post Role-playing Games

To Reader the Role-player,

One of the main problems with playing Role-playing Games online with other people is time management. No matter how many enthusiastic Players you have if the Dungeon Master can't make it the game can't start or move forward. That puts a tremendous amount of responsibility on one person.

For instance a group will meet together at a certain time that is not always good for everyone. Or when they do meet someone might have to suddenly leave or can only stay for 'x' hours. Other issues that make it difficult: time zones, commitment, work, etc. Another issue is the level of interest of participants.

For example you may play in Character very well while another Player treats the game with mediocrity using a one-liner to participate. This seriously takes away from the purpose of the game: ROLE-PLAYING!

Nothing in live role-play can replace the thoughtfulness that goes into a carefully written description of your Character or his/her actions. In a descriptive paragraph more can be brought to the imagination than struggling to speak it out.

Lastly, even in our own Community it can be a struggle to get both Players and Game Masters to be committed or timely thus causing most to lose their own commitment to the game. In the past I thought about and have been promoting the Role-playing Games that Game Masters run but it doesn't make sense if the GM isn't there to run them so I digressed from doing that.

This is the custom coded solution for those who want to play at anytime: ROK II. There is no other text based Role-playing Game like it anywhere. It enables descriptive gaming, character building and interaction with other Players at anytime without the need for a Game Master. The expanding world built on Player input means you can play anytime! You can be as descriptive as you want to be not having to worry about being bogged down by the time or lack of enthusiasm of others.

In a few days, I will be releasing some promotion material (VIDEOS, fund builders, etc) that will hopefully help me make ROK II even bigger. Eventually, I will even be working on a science fiction version!
