"Dammit guys..." Alexi begins in a harsh whisper when he hears the sound of Gradard and Brennic collide, but he stops suddenly as he glances forward and sees the strange scene playing out before the party. Looking on with a sort of morbid curiosity he watches the rats in their grotesque 'dance' he glances behind the party to again ensure nothing is approaching behind them and readies his sword and shield.
You denunciation, Cadmus, roars over the cacophony stunning them to silence. The Tiefling stares at you with bulging eyes, mouth agape, struggling to come up with the words of retort for someone who has interrupted such a 'holy' communion(His thoughts, not yours). You take a step forward, the light of Lathander bursts unbidden from your shield as you cast Sacred flame upon one most foul. Most of the rats go diving for cover, scurrying away through cracks and other exits. [your intimidation roll: 19, nice job]
The Tiefling tries to dodge the light that engulfs him [rolls: 9], and fails, lighting up in holy fire. [roll: 7 damage]. [this was a surprise round for you alone Cadmus]
When the blinding light clears all that remains of the 'service', is the Tiefling... Trying to scream.... He finally gets one word out...."Kill!" He screeches, seeming not to care that all his 'brothers' have fled. He lunges for the party.
(Sadly) "Well, so much for surrender. He is one against all of us, try to subdue him rather than kill him, if you can. His mind may be cured, or the people in the town may wish to see him tried instead."
Cadmus holds his shield upright, reaching behind him to touch the arm of Skreed as he casts his Guidance cantrip (Granting Skreed a bonus 1d4 added onto the roll for the next action that he performs, likely to attack). "Lathander guide your blow to swiftly end this conflict."
Seeing the others engage the Tiefling, Alexi holds his action and moves to a position to cover Gradard and Brennic, he will strike at and/or respond to any rats or other danger that threatens the other members of the party.
Cadmus exhorts his fellows to employ non-lethal means, wincing at the throw of the trident and the swing of the axe. A bit in awe of the goliath's rage, he stands back behind the others, prepared to bring down his Sacred Flame defensively, while watching the others' backs carefully.
