I'm not a Jets fan, but I try to keep up with everyone in the NFL. I think that the Jets have had allot of dead weight in the past. They have held a variable clinic in how to hold onto players that aren't performing or have over stayed their welcome. Others get cut way to early for the Jets own good.
The NY Jets had the 4th overall pick of the 2006 NFL draft, and with it, they chose OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson. I don't know a lot about this college player, but apparently he impressed a lot of people in the combines. Here is a rundown about this player.

Ferguson is a very talented athlete who was enjoyable to evaluate. He has the very quick feet and playing speed to become a very good left tackle in the NFL, but to do so, he will need to up his level of aggressiveness. There are definitely times when he is frustrating because he does not bend his knees or use his hands aggressively, which hinders his ability to play up to his ability. Overall, he could be an inconsistent player for a season or two early in career, but with experience, he will become more consistent. In three seasons, he should be a very good left tackle who can make all the blocks and can eliminate his man on nearly every snap. |
The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they have agreed on a trade with the Denver Broncos for quarterback Tim Tebow, who was displaced in Denver by superstar Peyton Manning.
The Jets have agreed in principle to the trade, the team said on its Facebook page.
Tebow became the Broncos' starting quarterback last year amid great fanfare and led the team into the playoffs. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2007, when he played for the University of Florida Gators. Ref. CNN
Rex Ryan stays. Mike Tannenbaum goes. That's the verdict for the New York Jets, who announced Monday they're keeping their head coach but parting with the general manager responsible for recent weak drafts, questionable decisions on contracts given to Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes and ultimately the failed Tim Tebow experiment.
