Drat! For a minute I thought I had it, I was close to going with Winfield Scott --- and then I looked one more place and found that he married after the War of 1812... so the search continues....

I know, I thought of good ole Sam, but he definitely was a married man.

I figured that Sam Houston was an awesome choice, because Klar said he couldn't tell us where the statue was or it would give it away....

We need more clues KLAR! Or your going to be the first one to stump us all! Then you have to go again!

Okay, I'm going to make a stab in the dark...well, not really a stab...more of a stumble...but - I do believe I have a WINNER.... wink.gif

Would you be Brigadier General Sylvanus Thayer?

Also known as "The Father of West Point" and namesake of the Sylvanus Thayer award established in honor of Col. Sylvanus Thayer, 'Father of the Military Academy,' which is presented to an outstanding citizen whose service and accomplishments in the national interest exemplify the Military Academy motto, "Duty, Honor, Country."

I have to admit I have never heard of this guy but now I know more about him than I ever dreamed of. You picked a good one!
