Now Now, why would you think this person has to be well known? Sometimes the obscure ones are the ones you need to look at more closely *evil grin*
Ok, let me see if I can give you a few more hints without giving it away -
So far we know that this person:
is male, known for his generosity, was married, came to America at some point in his life, was born in 1689, is not an actor, is not a writer, is not a military figure, is not related to the theater in anyway, is not thebritish astronomer Samuel Molyneux, and is not part of the English Parliament.
So far the only thing we know for sure is that it is a man and that he is dead -*sigh*
During this time in history, many people were trying to find something in life to ease the hardships. Remember, Benjamin Franklin had not yet discovered electricity. American colonies had not yet won their independence from British control. So times were - interesting.
This man - was not an American colonist although he did have some - um. interaction with them. He was a young man when he died - only 28 - he did not die from disease or military action, or any human caused insult or injury. He died doing what he loved to do -
And that is all the hints I"m going to give for now -
Happy Guessing!
PS: AlaskanLDS is away for a couple days but I am sure she will get me good for this "cheating"
So, Were you a formidable pirate?
If so, I think I know who ye might me, ARGH!
Oh, what the heck.... are you Samuel Bellamy also known as "Black Sam" Bellamy, known for his mercy and generosity toward those he captured on his raids which gained him the second nickname of the "Prince of Pirates.

YES I AM!
Yeah for Alaskann who FINALLY got who I am.. now.. was I cheating? giving so many hints?
I was afraid no one would get who the person was if I did not give some things away, but on the up side - I had another person of history already picked out for the next go round *Big Smile*
So are you all ready for the next one?
After a life of so-called failures one day, while tired and discouraged I happened across something that changed my life and that of countless others.
