Only two pop into my mind the fist was Alexander graham bell but he was Scottish then Canadian then American then buried in Canada so he is out. That left Mr. Gattling but I can not recall if he worked with some one all the time. Richard Jordan Gattling should have been cursed as he hooked us all on the steam plow(tractor today). There is another who was american and was working on a phone but discovered recording device I think in that time and worked with a Scottish fellow I think. Drawing a blank too many late nights this week me thinks.

Pretty much still drawing a blank! I am with Klar, the whole hint thing about the friend was a nice thing and all--didn't help me out though! I guess I will sleep on it.
I was thinking of such things as cell phones--tylenol--chapstick but none of them seemed to fit.

During that time, General Antonio de Santa Anna went into exile from Mexico and boarded with Thomas Adams in his Staten Island home. It Santa Anna who suggested that the unsuccessful but inventive photograper experiment with chicle from Mexico. Santa Anna felt that chicle could be used to make a synthetic rubber tire; and he had friends in Mexico who would be able to supply the product cheaply to Adams. |
