Pope Francis backs Obama's climate change agenda
Pope Francis endorsed President Obama's efforts to address climate change in remarks at the White House on Wednesday. "Mr. President, I find it encouraging that you are proposing an initiative for reducing air pollution," The pontiff said. "Accepting the urgency, it seems clear to me also that climate change is a problem which can no longer be left to a future generation." Obama faces a battle over the issue with Republicans in Congress, who argue that Obama's climate change plan would sacrifice U.S. Economic growth in exchange for speculative environmental benefits.
