What should be the next step if you have listed your home with a Real Estate Agent for several months but got nothing much out of it? Suppose I have an extended contract with the Agent, can I break it?

Before you break your contract with the real estate agent find out from them how long the average listing is on market. Then check to see if the price your asking is too high. There are other ways to help your home sell. SOme people wait till the house has been on the market for a year or more so they get a better deal by buying the house for less than it is worth because the people selling are more desperate to get out from under the house.

If your house is sitting with no bids far longer then normal you are best to take it out of the market. The reason being any one who does place a bid knows they can under bid since you are now desperate to sell. A long list time also makes people ponder what is wrong with the house or location.

So take it off wait a year and rethink your strategy.
