Centenarian and 99-year-old crash car
State Highway 1 was blocked for more than an hour after a 100-year-old and a 99-year-old crashed while driving on the wrong side of the road.

The article doesn't mention WHY they were driving on the wrong side of the road? This would be terrifying and I am glad that no one else was hurt--there could of been some serious damage.
I am only assuming but hope, "license revoked!" (FOREVER at this point))

I am a firm believer that anyone over the age of 70 be given only a 2 year license and be required to take a driving test with a certified driver from the state to maintain their license. I see too many older people driving like they have no clue what they are doing.
That is odd at best and is very sad. To think they survived from horse and carriage to space age, wars, depressions and who knows what else only to do this? I question where they from a different country and forgot what they were doing or just trying to commit suicide and die together. A drivers license is a privilege I hope they ever see again.

It would be interesting to see a follow up pn that but I have no hopes of that ever occurring. KNtoran is so right the Canadaian and States are very laxed in who hold a lisence. I would like to see 5 year testing for all and perhaps a shorter period for older people.
I know other countries do this as well as car inspection at the same time. I would like to see trailers be incorporated into the test as well I see so many on the road that the driver has no clue how to handle it. Training is the real cue to road safety.
