MichaelC, so that's two Players, you can now create your Threads in the Mystery & Horror Role-playing Game Board and I will make them Role-playing Game Threads so you can have GM powers there and Players can utilize the Character Sheet. One Thread should be for Character Creation / Questions where you explain the limits of Character's stats and the other Thread as the Main Game for you and the Players where you also list the rules and layout to start.

A modern Cthulhu game is something I've wanted to try! I have played BRP before in a Viking era game with magic and Cthulhu elements. However I do not have any Cthulhu rulebooks.
I will probably start with a character similar to myself, but skip out on writing a back-story at the start.

Just some info: Chaosium Inc., the publishers of the Call Of Cthulhu game, has an open policy just like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder which will allow me to really make the Play By Post version to look and feel like looking at a CoC book:

Oh if Lucas Arts could get that right. Now with regards to the manuals. You will have to buy them. You can purchase PDF versions online however I did find some free starter versions but they were mostly for the 6th / 7th edition which might be better than nothing if this is your first time with the game: Chaosium Free Downloads Center.
