I have thought for the past few years that some of the screening of people and objects are very redundant and not helping in the way of security at all. If they really wanted to do security and make us safer it would be a lot different in my opinion.

Yeah some of the things they do are ridiculous, I have a swiss army card that fits into my wallet. I was flying out of Omaha to Chicago and had the knife that has no more than an inch and a half blade on it before I could board the plane but they left the scissors that were in the same thing on there. I also was able to get on the plane with a ballpoint pen that would have done a lot more damage than that baby sized knife would have. It also surprises me that I don't have to take my shoes or belt off and can carry a knife into the nuclear plants that I often work in.

I can not go through screening since I carry a Gerber multi-tool. They would take that away from me. Good thing I do not carry my gun to work. smile.gif

I tend to agree with europes assestment of USA security at our airports. I wounder how a passenger falling outside on the curb warrants a yellow threat to be issued that goes nation-wide. Is the TSA that bored and under productive. Or do they have to somehow issue so many alerts a month to justify their presence?
