Since it seems that everything is in order here and the next logical place to go is engineering, Ajit takes a bit of initiative and says "Lets move out to engineering. I don't know if you want to split up or stay together, but we won't know anything about this floating rust heap until we get to engineering and evaluate its status." Waiting for those who have scattered a bit to come back together, Ajit then takes point to head to engineering, using the Wildcard's layout as a reference for where to go.
"Away team to bridge. So far no encouters of live ones. We found at least one body and traces of a fight in the kitchen. We are heading to engineering. Over.", Krakrefr takes a bit of breath and feels the moisture inside the snout of his mask. He takes point in front of Ajit.
Maiokus shrugs, "Could be an inside job, or a mutiny. Let's hope they don't return in any case. Though perhaps should make sure the team checks the cargo bay thoroughly? Maybe there are some hidden nooks and crannies there as well." He says to Silver.
Having secured the external hatch the away team moves to the iris that leads to the cargo bay and are forced to manually open the door using the tools from the ships locker that Krakrefr grabbed before boarding. After several minutes of working the tools the valve is finally forced open with a hiss as air that had been trapped in the cargo bay fills the crew common area. Detectors still indicate a lack of oxygen in the air, however.
The cargo bay is filled with general freight containers, but a thorough search reveals nothing of note. The away team moves aft and like the iris that leads from the crew commons to the cargo bay they find the iris valve leading to engineering closed and must work for several minutes to manually force them open. The team cautiously moves forward through the doors and conduct a search of engineering. The place is empty with the exception of a male human lying on the floor lifeless near the power plant; he is dressed in mechanics overalls and clutches what appears to be some kind of recorder in his right hand.
Out of Character: : Scanners still show nothing out of the ordinary.
Njall moves to the Powerplant, transmitting "Careful with the 'corder, don't link it to our systems. Might have a virus."
Starting with the Power Njall checks over the systems looking for problems.
Ajit moves cautiously with the team, watching for any signs o trouble, and is startled by the dead man when they get to engineering, but quickly gets down to business. Once in engineering, Ajit starts to check over the electrical systems, seeing what it would take to get them back up and running.
Out of Character: I am using Engineering (Electronics) at +1 and Intelligence at +2 to evaluate.
Conducting a thorough diagnostic of the power plant and engines would require a great deal of time, especially as all systems are down but a basic check of the systems do not reveal anything that would suggest that there is any damage to the power plant or the engines. It is noted, however that the manual override was flipped to vent the fuel and you would need to add fuel before you could bring the power plant back online.
