Krakrefr has already suited up and he is waiting next to the airlock, checking his equipment once more. He sees Njal, "Energy weapons only mate, slugs will have knockback. You can use Baron's plasma rifle if you want to put it down for good… " and he gives a grin, his sharpened canines showing. The constant thought of losing his teeth make Krakrefr more than eager to destroy the the entity.
"Crystals. Lasers might be ineffective. Might even reflect. I'm keeping the option to shatter 'em. Butt makes a decent maul with good reach, even if I don't fire it. Let's check each others seals and go do for this thing."
Krakrefr and Njall move slowly along the fuselage of the Wildcard until they arrive at the location of the crystals. Once there they can see dozens of crystals amidst a pair of larger ones. Movement catches their eye and they soon notice that some of the smaller crystals appear to be 'shedding' and breaking away from the main body gently floating away into space. It is likely that this is how the 'infection' transferred from the Elanna to the Wildcard.
As they approach Krakrefr's left canine tooth begins to wiggle and loosen in his mouth and Njall feels a dull pain in his forehead that seems to be intensifying.
Whoever is using the device to try and block the signal (I believe this is Ajit) make a Sensors roll with a total of -4DM in order to keep up with the modulation of the signal that the creature is emitting. Krakrefr and Njall should make an Endurance check but you'll have to wait until you know Ajit's result if he succeeds you will not suffer any dice modifier penalty but if he fails you will make the roll with -2DM.
Ajit works the blocking machine, trying to keep up with the changing frequency of the weird crystal creature.
Out of Character: You give a -4DM, and Ajit has +2DM from intelligence and +2DM for sensors skill, so I am rolling a 0. If you don't agree (Or had already taken Ajit's skill and ability into account), then please adjust the score appropriately.
Njall intends to collect a sample of the smaller crystal(S) before trying to de-louse the hull. He grits his teeth, squints against the ache in his temples, and moves forward.
Out of Character: : looks like Ajit couldn't hit the frequency, so I applied the -2.
Krakrefr hits his mask with his hand, the side where he thinks he feels the tooth getting loose. He tries to remember that these feelings are not real and is thankful that the mask blocks his arms reaching his mouth. He kneels to clean his mind and tries to think that even with lost teeth, he can implant new ones detailed in gold or other precious materials and gems, or even grafted from high-end alloys…
Out of Character: : Endurance 10 -2DM is -1DM to the final dice.
Krakrefr and Njall feel a pulse of some sort of energy that washes over them like a wave crashing against rocks. Njall's head feels as though someone has plunged a dagger into it and Krakrefr becomes suddenly and violently sick to his stomach. Falling to his knees Krakrefr heaves and vomits inside his mask and as he does so he swears his teeth have all be lodged loose and expelled from his mouth!
Out of Character: : Each will take 1d6 psychic damage applied to their Intelligence stat.
Seeing Krakrefr in trouble (Or rather not seeing him through the visor....) Njall moves quickly to get him to his feet and guide him back to the airlock. As they go Njall places his helmet against Krakrefr's and uses the junction of the two to transmit sound privately (Rather than the comms) and reassure the Vargr that it's just the crystals messing with his head, none of these nightmares are real. (Njall will go and deal with the parasite once his friend is safe).
En route Njall uses the comms: "Krakrefr is having difficulties, I'm bringing him back in. Anyone else able to suit up and join me?"
