In Character: : Maiokus' combat armor is still smoking from the heat of the rounds it deflected.
"Doc I'm good. Took a few hits but no injuries." As an aside he says "Napalm. Ugly stuff. Poor bastards."
"What's the word from HQ, Colonel?".
Silver broadcasts over the comms, "Secure every weapon and piece of ammunition that is usable. The 'Card should hold it all no problem."
Taking a momentary pause, Silver examines the track vehicle making sure it is driveable and could hold four men. "Gaden. Maiokus. Any concerns with riding to our destination?".
In Character: Gaden confers with the Colonel. "Sit-rep and casualty report? One of ours took a few rounds but he's holding. Doc is working on as many injured as he can.".
The soldier does as Njall commands, moving to the far wall of the cargo hold drops down to his knees and interlocks his fingers behind his head. As Njall has more time to get a better look at the prisoner he can see that this is a young man, maybe seventeen or eighteen years old. His rank insignia is basic and though it is unique to his nation it is obvious that it is the insignia of a low ranking member of the armed forces probably no more than a private, most likely he is fairly fresh out of basic training. An assumption that is supported by his demeanor, which shows that he is obviously anxious, for when Njall searches him he can feel that the young man's body shaking with trepidation. The young soldier says nothing, though and stares straight ahead at the wall of the cargo bay.
Shuth is joined outside by a medic who was left behind to help tend to the wounded; together they begin transferring the wounded that remained outside to the cargo bay and line up the dead several meters from the door. The GTC medic makes no attempts at helping the enemy wounded, nor does he move any of the enemy dead; he leaves them where they fell. A preliminary count suggests some fairly heavy losses on both sides with the GTC suffering around twenty dead and close to thirty wounded while the enemy suffered casualties as high as eighty dead or wounded many of them killed by the napalm strikes.
Upon searching the eight boarders, Njall finds six slug rifles and a shotgun. One of the soldiers was carrying a rifle with a small single shot grenade launcher attached to it. He finds a total of six full thirty round magazines and six field dressings/bandages. None of the soldiers were wearing armor. The soldier that received the shotgun blast to the face remains alive, groaning and writhing in pain on the floor of the cargo bay still clutching at his face.
Silver is able to triangulate his position well enough using the map and the surrounding terrain features. Gaden confers with the Colonel as the unit moves forward. The Colonel explains that he was able to make contact with HQ and that it would seem that despite an initial set back the invasion is once again moving forward. He is being told that the enemy has withdrawn and is attempting to consolidate their forces and as such there should be fairly light resistance at the facility.
