"I'll check in at the village here to see if there is any cargo or passengers that we can pick up" says Adeline "it may not be much but even one or two passengers and couple of tons of cargo is better than going empty. I'll need to know, however, are we going to Uakye or Allel?"
Ajit is on Whanga trying to ply his engineering skills. The colonization effort had sent out a recruiting message, and Ajit thought it would be as good a place as any to find work. However, he had no idea just how miserable the weather was or how little supplies the colony had. He was expected to make repairs and build structures with little to no material and to have it done quicker than if he had a full crew and supplies. He pushed through wanting to help the colony, but hearing Adeline asking around for interested parties to leave caught his attention. He explained that he would love to get off this planet, but can't pay in credits for passage. Maybe his engineering skills can be traded for passage?
In Character: "RnR is speaking my language," says Gaden as he pulls out his deck of cards, making one after another disappear with various flourishes. I'm not much of a hand at computers so I'd like something to do while the doc looks into the mission. I say Adelle"
To Adeline: "If you're looking to head out, I'll tag along ma'am. We don't exactly know what we will find out there."
"Alell it is" Adeline replies "I'll go see what kind of passenger and freight is available then." Adeline accepts Gadens company then gets onto the radio and contacts the village requesting a transport.
An ATV arrives about thirty minutes later and takes Adeline and Gaden in. She fails to find any outgoing freight but does arrange for five low berth and three middle berth passengers. When approached by Ajit, Adeline greets him politely but defers to Gaden on the question of working passage.
"Gaden here is more of a stake holder on the Wildcard than I am" she explains "He would have more authority to authorize working passage. I don't imagine it would be much of an issue though."
In Character: Gaden shakes Ajit's hand. "Well, I don't have final say by any means, but we could use an extra hand on the 'Card. Haven't had the best of luck with newbies. I can bring you back and introduce you to the captain and the crew. But first why don't you tell me a bit about yourself, where did you cut your teeth?"
In Character: With a very slight accent Ajit replies "Chief Petty Officer Gadhavi, nice to meet you." Ajit shakes the man's hand looking for a reply. After a sufficient pause (Whether he responds or not), Ajit continues "Well I was born on a little backwater planet with more people than it knew what to do with, and left as soon as I was of age. I cut my teeth as a Naval Engineer on the S.S. Colossus, and even served in the Battle of Adir." Ajit watches the other man's face for recognition or impression. "I have serviced 'em all and am pretty handy with the sensors, electronics, or maintaining any equipment. I retired a few years ago, and thought to be useful here, but they expect too much to be done with too little and too quickly. If I do something, I do it right."
