Does Wildcard have a Ships Locker? If so, does it have any weapons and/or armour? (Snub or auto- pistols, cutlasses or blades, or such "Civilian" weaponry). Thinking about equipping Adeline in case of boarding action - I assume Shuth will be a non-combatant, being a Doctor (Though - would Shuth use a snub pistol loaded with Tranq rounds?).
Another thought, are there any Vacc Suits beyond the ones the crew brought with them?
Maybe I'm a little confused about the game mechanics of a play by post but I feel like people are making far too many skill checks per "Turn". Is there some sort of standard we are following? I've been working under the assumption that if I make a roll, I wait for the ref to qualify the results. The rules clearly state how much time a skill typically takes and there is a limit to how much you can do a turn. However, we have people, sneaking, attacking, moving, and doing surveillance all in one turn. If we could clarify, at least for my sake, that would be great.
One of the problems with a play by post, is the waiting.
Between the time you post an action for a turn, the ref responds with necessary adjustments, rolls are taken, rolls are interpreted and the next turn is posted. One could be waiting for quite sometime.
To complicate the matters even more. We have several players. Not one player and the GM. It is tough to get the flow of the game. We are doing well.
I'll quote Aericsteele here (I've been posting a sequence of rolls in one post based on this guideline):
That makes things much clearer. Thanks for the post. I've been playing under completely different assumptions. This will make things easier.
I personally appreciate your willingness and the others in this game. For many of you, Play by Post is a new twist on an old friend.
Kind of like your car, with new rims, and a new paint job. Everything inside is still the same, it just has a different exterior look.
This is a new game for me. Play by Post is something I have become very comfortable with. Players who take both the game and the play format seriously is Priceless. Thanks again.
Yeah I totally made the mistake of adding modifiers to a 2d6 roll yesterday while half asleep. My bad!
Things are going well with this game I think. Though it takes a bit to get into it and we all had a relatively slow start. But I think we're getting used to the flow and each other's play styles.
