I am a programmer who lives in New Zealand with my wife and daughter. I am a fan of all kinds of games but most especially games with creative and strategic content. I play clever computer games, especially indie games, as long as they run on Linux. I also play Dungeons & Dragons, starting at fifth edition, so that makes me quite new to it. I'm fascinated by the game because it provides so much more freedom than a computer game can provide.
So far I've started running the fifth edition starter adventure as the game master and roped my poor family into it. They are good sports so they are enjoying it as long as we don't play too much (Or too little!). I've never played as a player character so I'm interested in play by post to get some experience in playing that way.
My life is extremely busy but I'm going to attempt to post once a day.
Welcome D&D Role-Player
Hail Adventurer! We bid thee greetings and are glorified by thy declaration. For thy knowledge all D&D Role-playing Games are kept here: [+] Member Wars Board. To learn the 1-2-3 steps for Dungeons & Dragons Play by Post then go straight to the Dungeons & Dragons Start Guide where a sage has posted steps to follow. Don't worry young master, there is also another Thread for thy consideration: How To Find The Role-playing Game That Fits Me?. Yet, if ye still be havin' questions do ask here, thy Introduction Thread, and someone will address thee.
Hi Milesprower! To get started you should follow Horde's suggestions. The specific thread to create a D&D 5e character is here: Zudguard's Dungeons & Dragons 5e Create Characters & Rules. If you are unsure about something in the community please ask within this thread (Your introduction) and someone will help.
Milesprower, you don't need to change time zone because the site measures the seconds, minutes and hours where events take place. For instance, if you are in New Zealand and I'm in America and you just made a post a minute ago then that minute ago is the same for both of us.
No one will force you to choose the correct flag, but whichever flag you choose it will be assumed that its your birth place.
Thanks for specifying.
