Iran says it launched missiles into Syria, targeting ISIS fighters in retaliation for two deadly attacks that occurred in Tehran on June 7th.

The missile strikes, which took place on Saturday, are a major escalation in Iran's role in Syria. This is the first time Iran has fired missiles into Syria since the Arab country descended into a civil war in 2011.

The strikes come as ISIS claimed responsibility for two June 7th attacks in Tehran that targeted Iran's Parliament building and a shrine dedicated to the republic's revolutionary founder Ayatollah Khomeini.

It was the first time that ISIS, which is fighting Iranian-backed militias in Syria, has claimed responsibility for an attack in Iran.

Iran's military had vowed revenge for the attacks that killed 12 people. Ref. CNN.

Talk about a bold move. They are probably only doing that because they have good backing from Russia and possibly to test us to see how far we're going to go with watching them have their way.

I'm not sure we're all that worried as long as they stay clear of groups we're supporting. ISIS is a target of ours as well. Of course, this has the potential to escalate and get real ugly, real quick.

Iran launches missiles into Syria in retaliation for parade attack. Iran said Monday it launched ballistic missiles into eastern Syria targeting militants it blamed for a Sept. 22 attack on a military parade in Ahvaz. Source 2c.

And on those missiles were phrases such as “death to the USA “and “death to Israel”. Nice to see them being consistent in their hate, even when at war with someone else.
