Mormons & Violent Sports

We know the counsel with regards to violent movies, etc but what about violent sports such as boxing? Do you think it is okay to participate or watch boxing on TV?

Its funny because I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about it. I like boxing and I enjoy watching it on TV. I don't watch it for the blood and violence but for the moves.

I don't like boxing (Just not my thing) however I don't judge others who do. It's funny because some people will not watch a violent movie but they go hunting every weekend.

I think we will become too naive if we hide ourselves from everything. Sports is by consent, its not like we're witnessing people in a mugging.

Comments: Its called a "Sport" For a reason because the competitors understand that its not a battle for death or violence but just competition. I tend to agree with what Elder has said, as Mormons we cannot live in a 'perfect' bubble.
