Most of the troops I know are already employed or they will stay in the military. Reservist or national guard soldiers who are called to duty have their jobs held for them by their employers. IF the company let people go or closed their doors then that could be a problem.
The idea of large groups of troops coming home reminds me of how the ancient romans dealt with such things.
First and foremost the troops could not enter the city.
Second is to have a buy out option to keep the troops safely separated and busy with their own land holdings.
I would propose we establish a public works program to retrain our soldiers in constructive skills and get our infrastructure repaired and rebuilt at the same time.
I realize this is a "big government" concept, but it just makes a lot of sense to me.
If we lose 4-5 million more jobs I can see the foreclosure rate going way up as more and more people no longer can afford the homes they are living in. Then the stocks will crash down and we will see a repeat of the 30s and 40s where families all lived in one big house.
