Young Americans Lack Jobs:
The United States has quietly surpassed much of Europe in the percentage of young adults without jobs. It's not just Europe, either. Over the last 12 years, the United States has gone from having the highest share of employed 25- to 34-year-olds among large, wealthy economies to having among the lowest. Ref. Source 9
Employers added jobs last month at a pace slightly ahead of forecasts, suggesting that the hiring rebound continues, although in a measured way.
The Department of Labor said today the economy added 175,000 jobs in May. Economists surveyed by CNNMoney had expected the report to show 158,000 jobs were added for the month.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate ticked slightly higher to 7.6% from 7.5%. Ref. CNN

The economy added 162,000 jobs last month, falling below forecasts. Economists surveyed by CNNMoney had predicted employers would add 180,000 jobs.
