Very nice. Simple yet appealing to those of any background. The animated movie is centered on an abandoned planet earth that is overrun by trash, and on it is a lone robot of the brand type WALL-E. This robot's job is to collect and compress trash and make mounds with it. This robot seems to have a sentimental side though and it's AI is so good that it seems to want to identify with human traits. The movie also gives a "What If..." scenario about just how lazy humans can become if they are left to a push button world where everything is done for them.

Sweet portrayal of this little robot! On the other hand, the "agenda" of global pollution, laziness, and stupidity of humans was quite clear.
Is this really what the world will be like in 100 years? Would you leave planet Earth on what is effectively a government cruise ship -- with the government promising to bring you back in 5 years? Is the human race so stupid and lazy that no one would question why there was no return after that time?
It's really nice that my daughter is now old enough to discuss these things with, so that she is not just ingesting unchallenged the message being broadcast but can question the validity and possibilities of these things actually happening.
The graphics were amazing and almost realistic in most of the movie, while cartoonish when portraying the humans. In my opinion, a really scathing commentary on the current status quo.... wrapped up in a robot romance and what can happen with courage in the face of opposition.
I rate it X3 Edited: FarSeer on 5th Jan, 2009 - 2:30am
