South Korea Weather: Storms

In South Korea which natural occurrence happens the most often: storms, flooding, earthquake, blizzards, drought, heat or cold wave, and so forth?
Heat Warning Issued for Seoul. The year's first heat warning was issued for Seoul on Wednesday as the whole country sweltered in muggy temperatures. Temperatures also soared above 30 degrees in many other parts, and are expected to reach 33 degrees on Friday. Source 3n.
I know when I was over there it could get very hot at times in the summer and in the winter it could get very cold. It reminded me of Iowa at times. I guess that is why I never worried about the weather there. I do know the mountains there do play a big role in the weather that travels across the nation.
While I was there, which was a much shorter time than KN, they had a heck of a thunderstorm come through… but it wasn't much worse than what we see here in the US in places. I wonder, are they prone to Pacific hurricanes or are they sheltered enough that they miss Korea?
