Iowa Agriculture
What do you know about agriculture in Iowa? What is the main produce and how do farmers cope with flooding?
Iowa farmers raise mainly corn or soybeans some fields are for hay too. There is a large number of hog farms and even beef cattle here. We have a good supply of milk too.
Many farmers know there is a possibility of flooding every spring. Normally it is not as bad as this year and the june rains are just a few days instead of almost every day. If the field is flooded for a short time and there is time a farmer will usually replant. Right now we are getting close to the cut of point of replanting. I hope the next week stays dry as it is looking to be.
