RPG System Hero

Hero System is the offshoot of Champions, and is Hero Game's attempt at a generic system that you can use to do anything. It works, because if you can imagine it, Hero System can probably replicate it. Mechanically, it IS Champions. As later editions came out, Champions merely became a supplement Hero System, rather than its own thing.

Like Champions, character creation is very number crunchy. Making a character can take a while, but once you're done, play is quick and easy. All needed calculations are performed in advance, so the character is ready to go when you're done. My only real complaint with the system up to fourth edition is that every aspect of your character is numerically defined, meaning you know EXACTLY what your character can do, and exactly what they can't. That may have been fixed in future editions. I stopped following it after fourth.

Just as Champions, once characters are made, they'd work fine as Play By Post characters.
