A study of 153 healthy people found that those who got less than seven hours of sleep were almost three times more susceptible to getting a cold than those who slept eight hours or more.

I can attest to this. I rarely get enough sleep and when I do go to sleep one of my sons will remind me I'm a father while sleeping so I'm up again. After some weeks of that you can feel the cold coming on.

Poor Sleep Increases Risk Of Getting Sick Health & Special Psychology

This I can neither agree nor disagree with. While I have heard from many people that lack of sleep can lead to health issues I have yet to experience any. With averaging 4-5 hours of sleep a night I should be real sick or in bad shape. The fact that I am losing a little weight here and there and I have yet to take a sick day because I was sick in the past 13 years says a lot. I sometimes do not get 2 hours of sleep in a night. While this happens only about once a week I still seem to keep on going.

Researchers found people with irregular sleep patterns weighed more, had higher blood sugar, higher blood pressure, and a higher projected risk of having a heart attack or stroke within 10 years than those who slept and woke at the same times every day.
