Green Car
Would you buy a car based on it being considered "Green"?
Would I buy a car that is 10 thousand more then its competitor because it pollutes less. I have my doubts unless the fuel savings is such that it has a 5 year payback.
I will be looking for a car in the next few years used most likely and unless a major change happens it will be a 4 cylinder gear box.
I am hoping in the next couple years people start letting some of the hybrid or other flex fuel vehicles come down in price. I am not sure it will happen but a guy can hope.
I think the way the government is going the truly green vehicles will not have much of a chance as with others in the past have shown.
The next Green car?
One of the obvious drawbacks about going green are the cars. We all know about the smart car (aka golf cart with a roof) which would lose in an accident with a tricycle, but now there is a new hot green car. Not excited? Here the pitch out: It's described as "a cross between a scooter and a car." In case you aren't ready to order, this will seal the deal: It's made by Peugeot. Try to contain the excitement! Ref. Peugeot 207
Not sure if this is the car they were referring to as it looks like a 2007 model possibly. It actually looks half decent though it is small. If going electric one should be able to have a full size sedan after all look at the other one being made.
I can tell you the more and more that I look at cars and trucks that are coming out today and in the next few months the more I am at a loss as to what I want to buy. I am looking hard at mileage and comfort. I do want one that can switch to 4 wheel drive. I am leaning more towards a truck or suv. having one that is green too would be a added bonus.
