Your Character Is About To Die

Have you ever been playing a character faithfully putting him into the riskiest situations and making it out alive only to have him die in the simplest way? I have a character in that predicament right now and thought I would throw up this thread to see how others feel about it when their character dies without getting too dramatic.

Hell yeah, I'm a situation like that right now. I have a thief doing most everything dangerous and turns out that he got pricked with a poison needle and I was not smart enough to walk with an antidote.

That may have happened to me but I can't remember the details but what I do know its definitely a downer. Its like reading a really good book about a hero while then reserving the last chapter for his retirement and how he gets a heart attack.
