NASA astronaut Scott Kelly blasts off for historic year-long space mission
American Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko are headed to the International Space Station to break two space records. If the pair toughs out more than 366 days together, they'll capture the record for the most enduring space crew. Kelly will also crush the U.S. Endurance record for longest continuous time in space, which now stands at seven months. The men are not scheduled to return to Earth until March 2016. Ref. USAToday
