Canada Murder Statistics
How many murders are committed in Canada on a yearly basis?
Which Providences or cities have the highest murder rate and what's the main reason for killing?
The last figure I have for the whole of Canada is 516 in 2014. Our murder rate is significantly lower than other countries. Winnipeg is probably the worst for the murder rate.

If Pagan is right then that's amazingly low or is that just for one provence I can't believe one city here can have more murders than the whole of Canada!

I can believe it Chicago is the murder capital of the world. I think Canadian cities close to the USA would have a higher rate but I am not sure. You have to remember that Canadian laws towards firearms are a lot different than ours. You also have to look at the gun laws in Chicago as being the toughest around. All I can say is that of all the foreign countries I have been in it is a serious different type of culture than what we have here in the USA. This is a big reason they all have lower murder rates.
Well you have to remember the American soldiers in Afghanistan or elsewhere in the world know they are in danger and are prepared for it.
American citizens in Chigago are told they are safe when they are in a city of nothing but victims. They can not protect themselves like other citizens can. I remember a news source talked to known gang members in the Chicago area a few years back and asked them a simple question. "Would you be doing some of the things you are doing if you knew the people could be armed?" The majority of their response was NO they would not because they did not want to be shot. Therefore you have a city where a majority of the bad people have guns and the majority of law abiding citizens have no way of protecting themselves. I think that says a lot.
