I've tried roller skating as a child but never got into it. The risk factor is very high especially when you are using roller skates outside of a designated place for it like a roller skating ring. Just being around other skaters as in this example is a high risk. Consider allowing this only in a very safe area for your child's safety.

Really? Scared of falling? I am but still enjoy roller blades and inline skates as well as ice skating and skiing. Perhaps if people think of what they are doing and like Hunter mention put on your crash gear you will crash. Helmet and wrist guards are the minimum I insisted and full gear with my boys till they got better then helmet and wrist guards.
Love to try out the hover boards and its cousin the unicycle. Just to scared of old bones cracking! Lids well they bounce! Seriously younger people are less apt to get hurt then us 30 plus crowd.
